Understanding Your Payment Options

Pflegekasse

If you have an approved Pflegegrad, your support services can be covered by the nursing care fund (Pflegekasse). This means your insurance may pay for part or all of the services, depending on your care level and personal situation. The goal is to help you stay independent at home without financial stress.

Private Payment

If you do not have a Pflegegrad or are not eligible for insurance coverage, you can still receive support through private payment. In this case, you pay directly for the services you choose. Everything is fully transparent, flexible, and tailored to your daily needs.

Care Level 1

“Individuals are assigned to this level when they experience minor limitations in their independence but are still largely able to manage their everyday lives on their own. Physical or cognitive restrictions might make tasks like heavy housework, grocery shopping, or organizing appointments challenging. As everyday helpers, we provide valuable support here by assisting with daily structure, taking over strenuous household chores, or accompanying the person to the doctor, ensuring they can maintain their independent lifestyle safely.”

Care Level 2

“This level applies when there is a significant impairment of independence. The person struggles with basic daily tasks—such as mobility outside the home, managing household duties, or keeping track of their daily routine—and requires regular assistance. At this stage, our everyday helpers step in to prevent isolation and relieve the burden on relatives. We offer active social companionship, accompany the person on walks, and ensure that their home remains a safe and well-maintained environment.”

Care Level 3

“A person receives this level when they face severe limitations in their motor skills or cognitive abilities, such as the onset of dementia. Frequent, daily help is now necessary because the individual can no longer manage their household or structure their day alone. Our role as everyday helpers becomes much closer: we provide steady guidance through daily routines, take over the entire household management, and offer a reassuring, familiar presence that brings peace of mind to both the individual and their family.”

Care Level 4

“This level is given when there are very severe limitations, meaning the person is mostly immobile or experiencing advanced cognitive decline. Everyday life is only possible with extensive, multi-daily assistance in almost all areas of life. While medical nursing staff handles physical care, our everyday helpers focus entirely on the soul and environment. We provide relief by reading aloud, ensuring the living space is clean and calming, and simply being a warm, steady companion during the day.”

Care Level 5

“The highest care level is assigned when there is an absolute loss of independence combined with special medical or nursing needs. The individual relies completely on others around the clock. In these highly sensitive situations, our everyday support shifts to gentle presence and sensory comfort. We support the nursing staff and family members by taking over background tasks, keeping the environment peaceful, and offering dedicated time just to hold a hand or provide a calming presence.”

Without Care Level (Private Payment)

“Many people do not yet have an official care level but still feel that everyday life is becoming more difficult to handle alone. Whether it’s due to a temporary illness, general fatigue, or just the desire for more social interaction—support is often needed before official authorities are involved. We step in immediately. We help flexibly with whatever is needed right now, from basic cleaning and running errands to simply having a good conversation over a cup of coffee.”
